HOW IT WORKS
Protect your important files with clear guidance at each step. Use the controls yourself, or ask the AI guide to explain your choices.
Choose folders containing your photos, documents, or other important files. Files inside those folders will be included in your backups. Review your selection before starting.
ArchiveFort saves an encrypted backup of your selected files in ArchiveFort storage, so you can recover them later. Your originals stay on your computer.
See when your last backup finished and whether any files need attention.
Get a file or folder back when you need it. ArchiveFort guides you through recovering a saved copy into a new folder, keeping your existing files unchanged.
AFTER YOUR FIRST BACKUP
Choose your folders once. Keep using them as usual.
With automatic backups enabled, ArchiveFort checks your selected folders for new and changed files and includes them in the next backup. You do not need to add each file yourself.
If Pictures is one of your selected folders, the new photo is included in the next backup. Changes to files in that folder are included too.
Add that folder to your backup choices first. You can review and change your selected folders whenever you need.
Your computer needs to be on, the ArchiveFort app running, and an internet connection available for a backup to complete. Check My backups to see what has finished.
Development preview: this shows the intended automatic backup experience. Automatic backups are not enabled in this test setup yet.
SECURITY
ArchiveFort creates a separate backup of the files you choose. Before sending it to storage, the app protects the copy with encryption—a security measure that makes it unreadable without the correct recovery key. Your original files remain unchanged on your computer.
When you need your files back, the app restores your saved copies and checks that they match the backup. Recovered files are placed in a new folder you choose, keeping existing files on your computer unchanged. Your AI guide explains each step along the way.
Choose the files you want to protect. The app creates encrypted backup copies and sends them to private storage, while your originals stay on your computer. To recover files, follow the guided steps to restore saved copies into a new folder.
Shared spaces are designed for files you choose to share with invited people. Your private backups stay separate from the files you share.
You can manage the page yourself or ask for help. The public preview offers example guidance. Live AI chat is not connected here.

A backup is a separate copy you can recover if a file is lost, damaged, or needed on another computer.
ArchiveFort saves encrypted copies of your selected files in ArchiveFort storage. Your originals stay on your computer.
With automatic backups enabled, new and changed files in your selected folders are included in the next backup. Your computer needs to be on, with the app running and an internet connection.
For example: choose Pictures, and new photos you add there will be included in the next backup.
Development preview: automatic backups are not enabled in this test setup yet.
ARCHIVE
An archive is for files you want to keep long term, even when you no longer use them every day.
Think of a completed business project, old family photos, or records you may need years from now. Archiving means keeping those files available for later.
A backup protects your everyday files as they change. An archive keeps files you want to preserve. Recovery brings a saved copy back when you need it.
Archiving does not automatically delete the originals or free space on your computer.
Development preview: the dedicated archive service is still being built. This page explains its purpose; it does not upload or move files.
SHARED SPACES
Share selected photos, documents, and other files with people you invite.
A shared space gives family members, a group, or colleagues one place to access a collection. Your private backups stay separate.
Choose who can view and download files, who can add files, and who can manage the space. Saved versions are designed to help recover earlier copies when something changes.
For example: a family photo collection that invited relatives can view from their own computers.
Development preview: the collection, access choices, and invitations currently use fictional examples. Invitations are not sent.
RECOVERY
Recover a file or folder after a loss, or bring your saved files to a replacement computer.
Choose the saved copy you need. ArchiveFort guides you through connecting the app and choosing where the recovered files go.
The app places recovered files in a new folder and checks them against the backup. Your existing files stay unchanged.
On a new computer, you will need the ArchiveFort app and your recovery access. Signing in alone does not unlock an encrypted backup.
Public preview: this explains recovery. Real recovery requires the installed app and your private account; no files are recovered here.

ARCHIVEFORT DRIVE · IN DEVELOPMENT
The planned Drive will appear in Windows File Explorer or Mac Finder, much like an external hard drive.
ArchiveFort Drive is planned to let you browse and work with stored files from your computer. The storage lives with ArchiveFort; it is not a physical drive plugged into your computer. An internet connection will be needed to reach files that are not available locally.
Your private folders would be separate from shared spaces. Shared spaces decide who can access a collection; Drive gives you a familiar way to access it.
Example layout — planned experience
Files for your own access.
Collections shared with invited people, according to their permissions.
Drive access and backup serve different purposes. A backup keeps a separate copy you can recover. Drive is a way to access stored files; using it would not automatically back up every folder on your computer.
In development: this is an illustration of the intended experience. Drive mounting, file access, and offline behavior are still being built. This page does not connect a drive or access your files.
